Blogging is extremely popular these days, and most people who own a blog are comfortable adding content to it, whether this is through using PLR content, or content that you write yourself. However, most writers do not use SEO techniques, so many blogs just go unnoticed. Here are some tips on how to write a blog that is search engine friendly.

1. You need to start with list of longtail keyword phrases that you will use for your blogs. You can build a list using the free keyword research tool provided by Google. If you are just beginning, use phrases that are three words or longer and have fairly high search volume and low competition.

2. When you write your blog title, make sure it includes your keyword phrase. Preferably include this as close to the front of the title as possible. Occasionally you may want to title the blog article with nothing more than the keyword phrase you are writing about.

3. Your keyword phrase should also appear as close to the beginning of the article as possible in the opening paragraph. It is also a good idea to put this keyword phrase in bold or italics to add extra emphasis, as this also helps the search engines to find it and helps them know what your blog post is about.

4. It is not such a good idea to use the keyword phrase again in the body of the article. Search engines do not want to see your keyword phrase over and over, but rather they would like to see a post that adds relevant material and sounds natural. Instead, use variations of your keywords as long as they make sense within the context of the article.

5. Include the keyword once more in the final paragraph. Don’t forget to emphasise it again with bold type as some search engines spider from the bottom of the page up.

Blog articles do not have to be as long as the more formal articles that you submit to article directories. Blogs can be as little as 250 words as long as they provide useful content. To make better use of your time, you are better off taking a long articles and breaking it up into smaller articles.

When you have finished your blog post, you should give it the best chance of being seen by a wider audience by bookmarking your post using a submission website such as OnlyWire or Socialmarker. If you do this, try to make sure you bookmark other blogs and webpages as much as your own because some of these bookmark sites do not like to see too many of your own submissions.
